Candied Squash
Candied Squash is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 squash, 1/4 c. butter or margarine, 1/4 c. brown sugar, 2 tbsp. dark corn syrup and 1/4 tsp. nutmeg, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Boil whole squash in a deep kettle 15 minutes.
Drain, split and remove seeds.
Peel; cut into chunks.
Melt butter in a heavy pan.
Stir in sugar, syrup, nutmeg and water.
Add squash and toss well; cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
Then uncover for 5 minutes or until tender.
Makes 4 servings.
