California Yeast Rolls
California Yeast Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. milk, 1/2 c. shortening or margarine, 3 c. pillsbury bread flour, 1/2 c. sugar and 1 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
In a saucepan, heat milk and shortening until shortening is melted.
In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, salt and yeast.
Gradually stir in hot liquid.
Add egg and stir well.
Mix in enough flour for kneading consistency.
Knead 5 minutes.
Cover dough and let rest 10 minutes.
Pinch off a small piece of dough and shape for rolls.
Place rolls in a greased pan.
When pan is filled, cover rolls and let rise in a warm place, free from draft, 45 minutes.
Preheat oven to 325Β°.
Bake 20 minutes.
Makes about 3 dozen.
