California Cheese And Rice is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/4 c. butter, 1 c. onion, chopped, 4 c. cooked white rice, 2 c. sour cream and 1 c. cream-style cottage cheese, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Grease 2-quart baking dish.
In hot butter in large skillet, sauté onions for 5 minutes.
Remove from heat.
Stir in rice, sour cream, cottage cheese, bay leaf, salt and pepper.
Mix thoroughly.
Lay half the rice mixture in baking dish, then chili, then grated cheese, etc.
Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 25 minutes.
Makes 10 to 12 servings.
Great with fried fish!
