Buttermilk Sopaipillas
Buttermilk Sopaipillas is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. flour, 2 tsp. baking powder, 1 tsp. salt, 2 tsp. shortening and 1/2 c. buttermilk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.

Mix flour, baking powder and salt.
Cut in shortening with pastry blender.
Add buttermilk, then enough water to moisten all ingredients and form a dough that can be handled.
Roll dough out on floured surface until 1/2-inch thick.
Cut dough in 4-inch triangles.
Fry in deep oil heated to 400Β°.
Press sopaipillas under oil until they puff.
Cook until brown.
Drain on paper towel.
Serve hot with honey.
