Butter-Rum Sauce
Butter-Rum Sauce is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. packed brown sugar, 1/4 tsp. salt, 1 (5 1/3 oz.) can evaporated milk, 1/4 c. light corn syrup and 1/2 c. coarsely chopped salted mixed nuts, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

In heavy saucepan, combine brown sugar, flour and salt.
Stir in water.
Stir in evaporated milk and corn syrup.
Cook, stirring constantly until thickened.
Stir in nuts, butter or margarine and rum flavoring.
Serve warm over scoops of vanilla ice cream or slices of angel cake.
Makes 2 cups sauce.
