Biscuits
Biscuits is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. self-rising flour, 1/8 tsp. baking powder, 1 tbsp. sugar, 3/4 c. shortening and 1 c. buttermilk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Combine first 3 ingredients in large bowl; cut in shortening with a pastry blender until shortening is the size of peas.
Add buttermilk, stirring with fork until dry ingredients are moistened. (Dough will resemble cottage cheese and be sticky.)
Turn dough out onto a heavily-floured surface and knead lightly 4 or 5 times. Roll dough to 3/4 inch thickness; cut with a 2 1/2 inch round cutter.
Place on lightly-greased baking sheet.
Bake at 450Β° for 10 to 12 minutes.
Brush with butter.
