Banana Cream Pie
Banana Cream Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2/3 c. sugar, dash of salt, 1/4 c. cornstarch, 3 egg yolks and 1 c. half and half, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

Combine sugar, salt and cornstarch in a heavy saucepan.
Beat egg yolks and half and half at medium speed of an electric mixer; add to sugar mixture.
Pour hot milk slowly into egg mixture, stirring constantly.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened.
Remove from heat; add butter, vanilla and, if desired, banana extract.
Pour one-third of mixture into baked pastry shell and layer with banana slices.
Repeat layers, ending with filling.
Cover with wax paper; make meringue.
Remove wax paper.
Spread meringue over filling.
Bake at 350Β° for 12 to 15 minutes.
