Asparagus Casserole
Asparagus Casserole is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 cans asparagus, 2 c. milk, 4 tbsp. butter, 1/4 c. all-purpose flour and 1/4 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Make white sauce.
Melt butter in top of double boiler.
Add all flour slowly, stirring constantly until roux is made. Gradually add milk, stirring continuously until all is used. Sauce will be thin at first but will eventually thicken to desired consistency.
Add salt and both peppers and stir.
May add cheese at this point.
Stir until cheese melts.
