Applesauce Spice Loaf
Applesauce Spice Loaf is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. soft margarine or butter, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 c. brown sugar, 3 eggs and 2 1/2 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Preheat oven to 350Β°.
In a bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Add the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg alternately with the combined applesauce and vanilla until well blended.
Stir in the pecans.
Bake in a moderate oven for 1 hour and 10 minutes, until a cake tester inserted in the center comes away clean.
Remove to rack.
When cool, wrap in foil.
Slice the next day or freeze.
Makes 1 loaf.
