Applesauce Cake
Applesauce Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. unsifted all-purpose flour, 1 lb. light brown sugar, 1 c. softened margarine, 1 c. sweetened applesauce and 1 egg, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
With a pastry blender, blend together flour, brown sugar and softened margarine.
Reserve 1 cup of this mixture for topping. To the remainder, add applesauce, egg, salt, cinnamon and soda mixture.
Mix together and pour into a buttered 9 x 13-inch pan. Into the reserved cup of mixture, add coconut, chopped pecans and chocolate chips.
Sprinkle over cake and bake at 325Β° for 50 to 60 minutes.
Cool and cut into squares to serve.
