Angel Biscuits
Angel Biscuits is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 pkg. dry yeast, 2 tbsp. warm water, 1 c. nonfat buttermilk, 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour and 2 tsp. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Dissolve yeast in warm water; let stand 5 minutes.
Stir buttermilk into yeast mixture and set aside.
Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda in a large bowl; cut in margarine with a pastry blender evenly.
Add buttermilk mixture, stirring with a fork until dry ingredients are moistened.
Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface.
Roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness; cut with a 2-1/2-inch biscuit cutter.
Place on a baking sheet that has been coated with cooking spray.
Cover and let rise in a warm place for 10 to 15 minutes.
Bake at 400Β° for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden.
Makes 1 dozen.
