Yeast Bread
Yeast Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 pkg. dry yeast, 1/4 c. warm water, 6 c. flour, 2 tbsp. sugar and 1 3/4 c. warm water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup water.
Sift dry ingredients into large bowl, add shortening, yeast mixture and water.
Mix and knead for 10 minutes.
Put to rise in a warm place.
In 1 hour punch down.
Let rise another hour and make loaves, rolls, etc. and place in greased pans.
Let rise till double in size and bake at 375 -425Β° depending on size of bread.
