Woodland Nut Cake
Woodland Nut Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 3/4 c. sifted flour, 1 3/4 c. sugar, 2 rounded tsp. baking powder, 1 1/2 level tsp. salt and 1 c. crisco (scant), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Sift 2 3/4 cups flour.
Add sugar and salt and baking powder. Sift thoroughly.
Drop in Crisco.
Add milk and extracts and 2 eggs.
Beat for 2 minutes at low speed.
Add remaining 2 eggs. Beat 2 minutes more at low speed.
Add chopped nuts and blend. Bake in 9 x 13-inch pan or tube pan for 40 to 45 minutes at 350Β°. Very good topped with a cream cheese frosting.
