Cream butter with sugar.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition.
Stir in milk and preserves, then the baking powder, cinnamon and flour (sifted together).
Pour into waxed paper lined 8x8 inch pan or dish.
Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes in a 350 degree oven.
Yield 9 servings.
Serve as a cake with warm cream if desired.
