Wilted Lettuce
Wilted Lettuce is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 8 c. washed and torn lettuce, 4 strips crisp bacon (reserve bacon fat), 1/2 c. sliced green onions, 1 tbsp. sugar and 1/2 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Dry washed lettuce leaves with paper towel.
Place in a large salad bowl.
Fry bacon and remove from fat.
To bacon fat in skillet stir in onion, sugar, salt, pepper and vinegar.
Cook 2 minutes.
Pour hot dressing over lettuce.
Sprinkle with crumbled bacon.
Toss to coat lettuce leaves evenly.
Makes 4 servings.
