Whole Wheat Bread
Whole Wheat Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/3 c. powdered milk, 3 tbsp. sugar, 3 tsp. salt, 1/3 c. shortening and 2 c. warm water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Mix the yeast with the warm water and a teaspoon sugar.
Allow the yeast to dissolve; set aside for 5 to 10 minutes.
In large mixing bowl, mix the first 5 ingredients.
Add the yeast mixture; mix well.
Add sorghum; blend in.
Stir in flour to make a stiff dough.
Let rise until double its bulk.
Make into 2 loaves; place in greased loaf pans.
Bake at 400Β° for 25 to 30 minutes.
