Waikiki Meatballs
Waikiki Meatballs is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 1/2 lb. ground beef, 2/3 c. cracker crumbs, 1/2 c. minced onions, 1 egg and 1 1/2 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Mix beef, crumbs, onion, egg, salt, ginger and milk thoroughly.
Shape into meatballs.
Melt shortening in a skillet; brown and cook meatballs.
Remove meatballs.
Keep warm.
Pour fat from a pan.
Mix cornstarch and brown sugar.
Stir in reserved pineapple juice, vinegar and soy sauce until smooth.
Pour into a skillet.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture thickens and boils.
Boil and stir for 1 minute.
Add meatballs, pineapple and green peppers.
Heat thoroughly.
