Velvet Hot Chocolate
Velvet Hot Chocolate is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate morsels, 3 c. milk, 1 c. half and half, 1/2 c. sugar and 1/2 c. light rum, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Place chocolate in top of a double boiler; bring water to a boil.
Reduce heat to low; cook until chocolate melts.
Set aside. Combine milk, half and half and sugar in a saucepan.
Scald mixture over medium heat.
Gradually add 1 cup milk mixture to melted chocolate, stirring until smooth.
Add chocolate mixture to remaining milk mixture.
Stir in rum and amaretto.
Top each serving with whipped cream and garnish with a cinnamon stick. Serve immediately.
