Tortilla Strips
Tortilla Strips is an easy dinner. Made with 10 (6-inch) corn or flour tortillas, 2 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. ground cumin, 1/2 to 1 tsp. ground red pepper and shortening or cooking oil for deep frying, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

Cut tortillas into 1/2-inch strips.
Set aside.
Combine salt, cumin and red pepper.
Place in a shaker.
In a large saucepan or deep-fat fryer, heat about 1 1/2 inches of shortening.
Fry small batches of tortilla strips in hot oil for 1/2 to 1 1/2 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove strips and drain on paper towels. Immediately shake some of the seasoning mixture over hot strips. Store tightly covered.
