Tomato Sauce
Tomato Sauce is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 c. chopped onion, 1 c. chopped celery, 1 c. chopped green peppers, 1 c. sifted flour and 1 tbsp. cinnamon, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
In a frypan, place the cooking oil.
Add celery, onions and green peppers.
Saute for 5 minutes.
Add flour, cloves, sugar, cinnamon, bay leaves and ketchup.
Mix well.
Add water and tomatoes.
Heat to boiling point; boil 5 minutes or until thick, stirring constantly.
Reduce heat and simmer another 5 minutes, stirring to prevent scorching.
Serve with spaghetti, meat balls, fish, and pork.
Makes approximately 1/2 to 3/4 of a gallon.
