Tomato Preserves
Tomato Preserves is an easy dinner. Made with 2 qt. yellow tomatoes, 3 c. sugar, 1 lemon, 1 tsp. salt and 1 tsp. cinnamon (optional), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.
Wash and dry tomatoes; slice or chunk and remove seeds (if desired).
Put tomatoes and sugar in layers in kettle; let stand until sugar is dissolved.
Cook a few minutes.
Add thinly sliced lemon (remove seeds) and salt; cook until thick.
Cook slow and stir often.
Cinnamon may be added.
Put in clear, hot cans and seal.
If desired, can use red or yellow tomatoes or mix for a pretty color.
