Tomato Ketchup
Tomato Ketchup is an impressive dinner. Made with 4 c. chopped fresh or canned tomatoes (no salt), 3/4 c. tomato paste, 2 c. chopped onions, 1 sweet green pepper, cut into 1/2-inch cubes and 1/4 c. brown sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Combine tomatoes, tomato paste, onions and green pepper in saucepan. Simmer 30 minutes.
Empty tomato mixture into food processor or blender.
Blend thoroughly.
Return to saucepan. Add other ingredients. Bring to a boil. Simmer 10 minutes.
Stir often.
Yields about 5 cups.
