Toasted Rice
Toasted Rice is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. rice, 2 tbsp. butter, 2 cans consomme, 1 c. water and 6 or 8 green onions, sliced, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Toast rice in heavy uncovered pan in a 350Β° oven for 45 minutes. Melt butter in heavy pan with tight fitting lid.
Brown rice slightly in the butter; pour in liquids and bring to a boil. Turn heat very low; cover and let steam for 25 to 30 minutes. Stir in finely chopped onions, including tops, and soy sauce. Remove from heat, but keep covered and let steam for a few more minutes.
