Thumbprint Cookies
Thumbprint Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 1/4 c. flour, 1 c. butter or margarine, softened, 1/2 c. packed brown sugar, 2 eggs, separated and 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

Beat butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in egg yolks and vanilla.
Stir in flour (half at a time), blending well.
Beat egg whites in a pie plate until foamy.
Sprinkle walnuts on waxed paper.
Roll dough into 1-inch balls, roll in egg white, then in walnuts to coat all over.
Place 2-inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
Press down in center of each with thumb to make a hollow.
Bake at 350Β° for 12 minutes or until firm and lightly golden.
Cool completely on wire rack.
Spoon preserves into each hollow.
