Three-Step Salad
Three-Step Salad is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. sliced almonds, 3 tbsp. sugar, 6 c. romaine lettuce, torn, 1 11-oz. can mandarin oranges, drained and 1 c. sliced celery, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
In a small saucepan over medium heat, cook and stir almonds and sugar until almonds are coated and lightly browned, about 4 minutes.
Spread the almonds on heavy-duty foil to cool; gently break apart.
In a large salad bowl, combine romaine, oranges, celery and onions.
Top with almonds.
In a jar with a tight-fitting lid, combine the oil, vinegar, sugar, salt, dry mustard, and garlic powder; shake well. Pour over the salad and toss gently.
