"The Best Stew" By Bernadette is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. stewing beef, 1/2 tsp. oregano, 2 cloves garlic, 3 onions and salt and pepper to taste, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Brown meat in butter; remove and then brown the onions.
Add meat, minced garlic and onions in pot with bouillon cube, water, catsup and seasoning.
Cook for 1 1/2 hours.
Then add wine and vegetables and cook for 1/2 hour longer.
This can be served as is or serve over buttered noodles and sprinkle with poppy seed.
