Sweet Pickles
Sweet Pickles is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 7 lb. cucumbers, 2 1/2 qt. vinegar, 4 lb. sugar, 1 tbsp. mixed spices and 1 tbsp. celery seed, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Cut cucumbers into large pieces; soak in 2 gallons of water and 2 cups of household lime for 24 hours.
Wash in clear water and then soak in clear water for 4 hours.
Mix remaining ingredients and let cucumbers stand in this mixture overnight. Then boil hard for 40 minutes.
Pack in hot jars and process for 15 minutes in boiling water bath.
