Sweet Dough Pie
Sweet Dough Pie is an easy dinner. Made with 1 c. sugar, 1 1/2 c. shortening, 2 eggs, 2 tsp. baking powder and flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Mix ingredients and enough flour to make a soft pliable nonsticky dough.
Divide in half.
Put 2/3 of each half in a greased pie plate and spread with fingers to cover bottom and sides of plate.
Place filling (figs, pears, apples, etc.) on top. Flatten remaining 1/3 of dough between palms of hands and place a small piece at a time on top of pie.
Bake at 325° to 350° until brown (45 to 50 minutes).
