Sweet Cucumber Pickles
Sweet Cucumber Pickles is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 7 lb. cucumber, 1/2 gal. vinegar, 1 tsp. celery seed, 1 tsp. whole cloves and 5 lb. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Slice cucumbers 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick.
Soak in lime water (use glass or plastic container), 1 cup lime per gallon of water.
Soak 24 hours.
Wash thoroughly in cold water.
Soak in clear water for 3 hours.
Drain; mix the other ingredients in larger boiler.
Bring to a boil; pour over cucumbers.
Soak 12 hours.
Cook for 35 minutes.
Pack in jars and seal.
