Swedish Meatballs
Swedish Meatballs is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. ground round steak, 1/2 tsp. onion salt, 1/4 c. water, 1/2 c. breadcrumbs (italian) and 1 egg, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Combine meat, salt, water, breadcrumbs and egg.
Mix well and shape into small balls.
Set aside.
Combine sugar, tomato sauce and lemon juice in a saucepan.
Simmer about 3 minutes.
Add meatballs and continue to simmer about 45 minutes.
Transfer to a chafing dish.
Set on low heat.
Garnish with lemon slices or parsley (if desired).
Yield: 3 1/2 dozen.
