Suriname Nasi(Fried Rice)
Suriname Nasi(Fried Rice) is an impressive dinner. Made with 3/4 lb. fried chicken, diced, 6 c. cooked rice, 4 chicken bouillon cubes, crumbled, 1/8 tsp. cinnamon and 1/8 tsp. nutmeg, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Heat oil and drippings in wok or Dutch oven.
Stir-fry onion and garlic for one minute.
Add chicken, soy sauce, cinnamon, nutmeg, black pepper and bouillon cubes in this order.
Let simmer about five minutes, covered.
Stir in rice about one cup at a time, until all six cups are added.
Turn off heat.
Add celery, cabbage and scrambled eggs and mix well.
Serve with salsa, if desired.
Serves six.
