Sugar Cookies
Sugar Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 1/4 c. flour, 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. salt, 2/3 c. shortening and 2/3 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Sift together dry ingredients.
In a separate large bowl, cream together shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat eggs in one at a time.
Add vanilla.
Add dry ingredients and mix well (dough will be stiff).
Cover and chill dough 2 hours or more.
Heat oven to 375Β°.
Grease lightly 2 large cookie sheets. Roll about 1/3 chilled dough on lightly floured board to 1/8-inch thick.
Cut out and place on a cookie sheet with a floured cookie cutter.
Sprinkle cookies with sugar.
Bake on top rack of oven 8 minutes or until light brown.
Cool on rack.
Makes 5 dozen 2-inch cookies.
