Spice Pickles
Spice Pickles is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c.white vinegar, 4 c. water, 4 c. sugar, 2 tbsp. salt and 1 tbsp. turmeric, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Cut pickles into small chunks.
Soak pickles in boiling water and coarse salt (about a handful) for 2 hours.
Drain.
Put all ingredients except pickles in kettle.
Bring to a boil and add pickles.
Simmer a few minutes until juice turns yellow.
Put in jars.
Makes about 5 or 6 quarts.
