Spedini Bread
Spedini Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 (20-inch) loaves french bread, 1/2 c. chopped or sliced onion, 1 stick butter, 3 to 4 tbsp. mustard and 2 tbsp. poppy seed, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Slice bread longways or at 1-inch intervals almost through. Saute onion in butter; add mustard and poppy seed.
Spoon this mixture into cuts in loaf.
Insert Swiss slices.
Arrange bacon on top of loaf.
May be wrapped in foil and frozen at this point. Bake, uncovered, at 350Β° for 10 to 15 minutes (30 minutes if frozen) until cheese melts and bacon is crisp.
