Southern Skillet Chicken Creole
Southern Skillet Chicken Creole is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/3 c. crisco, 2 1/2 to 3 lb. chicken legs, 1 large onion, chopped, 1 large green pepper, chopped and 1 c. sliced mushrooms, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Brown chicken in Crisco.
Remove from skillet.
In remaining oil, saute onion, pepper, mushrooms and garlic.
Stir in remaining ingredients.
Place chicken on top of mixture.
Cover and simmer 35 minutes or until chicken and rice are tender.
