Melt bacon drippings in a 9-inch cast-iron skillet in the oven.

Combine corn meal, flour, baking powder, salt and soda.

Pour hot drippings from skillet into batter; blend well.

Pour batter into hot skillet.

Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until cornbread is golden brown.
