Preheat oven to 350Β°. Cook sliced potatoes for 5 to 7 minutes until slightly crisp.
Melt butter with onions.
Combine sour cream, water, beaten eggs, salt and pepper.
Put potatoes in well-greased 1-quart casserole dish.
Slowly pour over sauce mixture over the potatoes.
Top with cheese and bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
