Sopaipillas
Sopaipillas is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 c. flour, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1 pkg. yeast, 1/4 c. warm water and 1 1/4 c. scalded milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Dissolve yeast in warm water.
Add to cooled, scalded milk. Combine the dry ingredients and add liquid; work into dough.
Be sure to add the last 1/4 cup of liquid slow enough to form firm ball.
Roll dough out 1/4 inch thick and cut into squares.
Fry only a few at a time.
Spoon over them to help them puff up.
May spread with butter and honey on top while still hot.
