Soft Sorghum Cookies
Soft Sorghum Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 1/4 c. flour, 1/2 c. shortening, 1 tsp. ginger, 1/2 c. sugar and sorghum, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Heat oven to 400Β°.
Sift together first 4 ingredients. Dissolve soda in hot water.
Mix in shortening, sugar, sorghum and egg until creamy.
Mix in soda and all but a few raisins or nuts. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheets.
Sprinkle with remaining raisins.
Bake 12 minutes or until done.
Makes 2 dozen.
