Butter 9 x 9-inch pan.
Melt butter in pan.
Add sugar and salt.
Stir thoroughly.
Stir in corn syrup.
Gradually add milk, stirring constantly.

Remove from heat.
Stir in vanilla.
Pour in pan and freeze.
Cut at room temperature.
