Shrimp Newburg
Shrimp Newburg is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 tbsp. butter, 1/4 lb. mushrooms, sliced, 3 tbsp. flour, 1 c. light cream or milk, heated until bubbles appear and 1/4 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Heat butter in skillet over medium heat.
Add mushrooms and saute 2 minutes.
Stir in flour.
Cook 2 minutes.
Remove from heat.
Add hot milk or cream all at once, stirring constantly. Return to heat and stir until thickened.
Add catsup, Worcestershire, salt, pepper and red pepper flakes.
Add shrimp. Bring to simmer.
Cook until shrimp turns pink.
Remove from heat and stir in sherry.
Serve with rice, salad and French bread.
