Shoo-Fly Pie(A Pennsylvania Dutch Favorite)
A Pennsylvania Dutch heirloom: a flaky pie crust filled with molasses moistened by hot water and baking soda, layered with buttery flour-and-sugar crumbs. Sticky-sweet on the bottom, cakey on top.

Put 1/2 of crumb mixture (flour, sugar, butter and baking powder) in each shell.
Pour 3/4 juice mixture (molasses, hot water and baking soda) in each shell.
Pour 1/2 of remaining juice mixture over each shell.
Bake at 400Β° for 30 minutes.
