Shanghai Casserole
Shanghai Casserole is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 lb. ground beef, 2 tbsp. lard or drippings, 1 c. finely chopped onion, 10 1/2 oz. can condensed cream of mushroom soup and 1 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Brown beef in lard or drippings.
Add onion and cook until tender.
Pour off drippings.
Cook vegetables in water for 5 minutes and drain.
Combine vegetables, soup, salt, pepper, soy sauce and celery and stir into meat mixture.
Place in 2 1/2-quart casserole dish.
Cover and bake at 350Β° for 25 minutes.
Remove cover, sprinkle with Chinese noodles and bake 5 minutes longer.
