Shanghai Casserole
Shanghai Casserole is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 lb. ground beef, 2 tbsp. lard or drippings, 1 c. finely chopped onion, 10 1/2 oz. can condensed cream of mushroom soup and 1 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Brown beef in lard or drippings.
Add onion and cook until tender.
Pour off drippings.
Cook vegetables in water for 5 minutes and drain.
Combine vegetables, soup, salt, pepper, soy sauce and celery and stir into meat mixture.
Place in 2 1/2-quart casserole dish.
Cover and bake at 350Β° for 25 minutes.
Remove cover, sprinkle with Chinese noodles and bake 5 minutes longer.
