Scotch Chocolate Cake

Sift sugar with flour and salt.
In saucepan, put margarine, shortening, water and cocoa.
Bring to a boil.
Pour over flour/sugar mixture.
Stir soda into buttermilk.
Add to batter along with eggs and vanilla.
Mix well.
Bake in a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan at 350Β° for 20 minutes.
Pour following frosting over hot cake.
