Melt butter; stir in flour, salt and pepper, cooking 2 minutes. Slowly stir in milk and continually stir until thickened.
Remove from heat.
In 2-quart casserole, arrange sliced potatoes, onion, then sauce.
Repeat layer.
Cover and bake at 350Β° for 1 hour. Uncover and bake until potatoes are tender.
Makes for 10.
