Scalloped Asparagus
Scalloped Asparagus is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/3 c. butter, 1/4 c. flour, 1 tsp. salt, pepper and 2 cans green asparagus spears, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Melt 4 tablespoons of butter. Add flour, salt and pepper to make a smooth paste.
Drain asparagus. Add enough milk to liquid to make 2 cups of liquid. Cook until thickened.
Add pimento. Cover bottom of a 9 x 9-inch casserole dish with half of the asparagus, sliced eggs and cheese. Repeat with remaining ingredients. Top with bread crumbs.
Melt remaining butter and pour over top. Bake at 425Β° for 20 minutes.
