Savory Beef Stew
Savory Beef Stew is an impressive dinner. Made with 2 lb. beef chuck, cut in 1 1/2 inch cubes, 2 tbsp. fat, 4 c. boiling water, 1 tsp. worcestershire sauce and 1 medium onion, sliced, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Brown beef in fat.
Add next 10 ingredients.
Simmer for two hours; stir occasionally.
Add carrots, onions and white potatoes. Continue cooking 20 to 30 minutes or until all vegetables are done. Remove meat and vegetables.
Thicken remaining liquid for gravy. (Wondra flour is good for this, as it does not cake.)
Serves 6 to 8.
