Rum Cake
Rum Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. butter, 2 c. granulated sugar, 1 c. milk (not too cold), 3 1/2 c. cake flour, sifted once before measuring and 8 egg whites, beaten stiff (but not too dry), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Cream the butter and sugar a little at a time.
Add 1/3 each of milk, flour and egg whites, in the order named, beating after each addition and beating well and long after the last addition. Keep out 2 tablespoons of flour, into which mix the baking powder. Add this when all beating is over.
