Refrigerator Rolls
Refrigerator Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 pkg. dry yeast, 1 tsp. sugar, 1 c. lukewarm water, 2 c. milk, scalded and 2/3 c. melted shortening, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Soften yeast in water with 1 teaspoon sugar.
Add cooled milk (lukewarm), shortening, 3/4 cup sugar and salt.
Add eggs, well beaten.
Add flour to make soft dough.
Let stand 10 minutes. Knead lightly on floured board.
Flour surface of dough until smooth and elastic.
Place in greased bowl.
Grease lid and cover. Store in refrigerator as long as you wish.
Bring from refrigerator about 2 hours before you shape into rolls.
Let rise until double in bulk.
Bake in hot oven at 400° to 425° for 15 to 20 minutes.
Punch down unused dough and return to fridge.
